Food & Fresh Ingredients

Many of the participants shared stories about their mothers and how they all lived to be over 90 years old. They credit the healthy aging to eating and cooking with fresh ingredients without any pesticides, antibiotics, and artificial preservatives and flavoring. 

They get into how much there is ... Before the food you used to grab it. They grabbed the tomato and ate it. Everything was natural. The string beans. The green beans. All that. The good food, that's what you call it good food. Right now we have everything, but they give injections so that it grows. But not before! Even in the chicken, in the eggs! In those days no, the hen had her eggs and then we ate it. And the chickens grew up with corn! Now they give them injections.

My mother died at age 93. I have an aunt who is already 100 and is still alive. Their whole generation lived until 100.

Mi mamá yo creo que fue por su alimentación. Y el genio de ella que no la dejaba…. Ella era fuego, y todo el mundo que la conocía, todo el mundo la velaba. Cuando estaba en 90, creían que no podía hacer nada. Y ella hacía, y mucho.

I think my mother lived so long because of her diet. And he strong temper that always stuck with her. She was fire, and everyone who knew her would watch out for her. When she was 90, people used to think that she couldnt do anything. But she did a lot of things!

Yo cocino malísimo. ¡Pero no me queda más remedio! Mi mamá no me dejaba cocinar…. Y como ahora hay centros donde uno desayuna, almuerza y cena… Y se llena! La gente ya no cocina…

I am a very bad cook. But I have no alternative! Mi mother didnt let me cook... and since now there are so many places where you can breakfast, lunch and dinner... They are so busy! People dont cook any more.
